My name is Galina Tarantul. I am a Chicago and Chicago Area Photographer specializing in Engagements/Weddings and Family/Children's photography.
A couple of things about me: I am married to the most wonderful man in the world, Alex with whom we have a beautiful baby daughter, Elizabeth. While I was a student of Linguistics I studied languages and cultures which gave me an opportunity to travel a lot, meeting many different people and observing a variety of cultures and places. Every time I saw those stunning scenes, I wanted to take them home with me. Since it was impossible I was taking photos. Being far from home I was very homesick and missed my family.
I always carried their pictures with me. Looking at those photos made me feel closer to them even though they were thousands of miles away. This is when I began to fall in love with photography. I realized how powerful photographs are. A picture of something or someone from our past can easily stir up long forgotten feelings and emotions. They can virtually take us back in time.
So, for more than 10 years I've been enjoying taking photos almost every day of my life, studying different types and styles of photography. My primary style incorporates natural smiles, poses and tells you a story from behind my lens.
I like to work with my clients in a relaxed environment, with soft background music and start off with a cup coffee so you have a chance to relax and become comfortable with me before the photo shoot.
